In July of 2022, rider Evelyn Ferral was able to take trips to a rehabilitation center to visit her husband, whose health was declining. This can be very difficult for seniors who no longer drive, as it prevents them from being with someone they love dearly during a challenging time for that loved one. Evelyn was dropped off by our volunteer, enjoyed her time with her husband and then returned home when she was ready. In mid July of 2022, our volunteer dropped Evelyn off as usual for a visit, but while she was visiting, her husband passed away. The volunteer stayed with her until she was ready and even had a good cry with her. Our volunteers are not just there to provide rides, but they also build relationships with our riders and give care and compassion when needed.
